In need of easy adult sweater pattern

I am going to embark on making a sweater for myself.
I have made afghans, hats, sweaters, purses, mittens etc and think I could handle a sweater now

I would love to find a pattern that is not too detailed and would also appreciate any suggestions of some faves that you may have.

Thank you SO much :

Which needlecraft, crochet or knitting? I can explain to you a way to make a crocheted sweater pattern-free, if you'd like.

I recently made the Knitting Pure and Simple Neck Down Bulky Bolero. I loved it. It was easy, quick, and nice.

the hourglass sweater in "weekend knitting" is simple and lovely.

is free and simple and an interesting construction to boot.

I 2nd the Knitting Pure and Simple suggestion. Those are all great, basic patterns.

I'm currently knitting Amused from knitty and it's quite simple. It's on large needles (10 for me) with worsted weight yarn, so it's going fairly quickly, too.

Yankee Knitter Easy Bulky Sweater for the Family, Pattern #30. I've made a couple kid-sized ones and one for myself. Easy and FAST when you use the bulky yarn. Well worth paying for the pattern. Your LYS may have one on file already.

I would try EZ's seamless yoke neck. I think seamless yoke necks or raglans are a lot easier for a first sweater than a pieced sweater.

I agree. The EZ looks great. I haven't knitted it, but I think this one would be great.

I suppose it depends on what is more daunting to you. For me, the idea of seaming pieces together makes my head spin, so I have only ever done raglans and the like.

Oh, the seamless yoke is in Elizabeth Zimmerman's Knitting Around book, which is full of lots of great tips/ideas and stories as well.

I was definitely less intimidated by knitting after reading this book.

I would try a top down raglan one piece for your first time. Check out www.knittingfool.com for a pattern generator and a neat "how many skeins" will I need page.
