I know exactly how you feel! my DH did the same thing right down to the spending on after you spend thing.
You really cant talk to him , you have to somehow either take him to a counselor or take him to a class and have someone else say it. it sucks and its frustrating and its 8+ years of telling them the same thing but unless he changes then you have to find a way to either be happy with the way things are or move on
