Ugh, I got "encouragement" like that from the military clinic I did shadow care with last time. I got so sick of hearing things like, "If you manage to have a vaginal birth..."

I am using a unlicensed midwife for my hba2c with no backup. I am going to take whoever is oncall in the event of an emergency. With my previous c-sections I had doctors that I didn't know, so this won't be any different.

What I am trying to get worked out is that if I do end up with another c-section, I have preferences that I would like that I don't know if they would follow. Like I want them to delay cord clamping and I want baby to be placed on my chest right away and to be allowed to stay with me as I transfer to recovery. I just don't know if they will be willing to do any of this, especially since I don't know who would be doing the delivery.

I toured a couple hospitals and asked around and figured out which hospital is the most natural birth friendly in my area. If I am transferred for a non-emergent situation, such as a complication during pregnancy I will got there and just take the OB on call. Otherwise I would be transferred as an emergency and go as close as possible and be grateful for their expertise in the situation they are trained to deal with.

My back up plan involves calling 911 and taking an ambulance to the nearest ER. I'm not doing parrallel care at all though.
