This book feels good in your hands. The paper is heavyweight, and the illustrations flow perfectly.

Wow! That's 23 pages! I'm working on it. So far I love how it addresses the euphemisms. To which, the article pulls the reader out of his own cultural ideals. Either way, Unwarranted Medical Genital Alteration is morally unacceptable in a civilized society. When will America wake up? The rest of the 'civilized' world gets it. They find it repulsive to do this to a healthy child - male or female! I can't help but feel that America is one of those backward countries.

Steven Svoboda and Robert Darby have contributed so much to the scholarly literature about genital integrity. We are all indebted to them.
BTW, I highly Rob Darby's book "A Surgical Temptation: The Demonization of the Foreskin and the Rise of Circumcision in Britain" (I think I got that right). It is a thoroughly fascinating read (at least it was for me) of not only the history of the medicalization of circumcision, but set also in the context of the history of male sexuality, the history of medicine, and specifically the history of urology. It gives some great insights into where a lot of the myths that float around came from.
Also, see Rob Darby's great website on the history of circumcision, with more of his articles. http://www.historyofcircumcision.net/

A quick point by point comparison http://www.noharmm.org/comparison.htm
Comparitive quotes http://www.boystoo.com/fgm&mgm.htm
Genital mutilation is mutilation whether the victim is male or female.
