What are you eating right after birth ? - Page 3

Oo! Ooo! *hand up waving*
I popped a turkey in the oven during my labor, and we had turkey all that first week nesting in postpartum with my HBAC. It was a great idea, and healthy. No greasy takeout or processed crapola for that precious time, but good hearty food for everyone, for a week.

It was a funny story where I decided to have Thanksgiving early, and the very day I decided on was when the baby came. Should have been suspicious that labor was impending when I was making pie crust from scratch and whipping out pies like a madwoman the couple of days before! LOL But it was my first natural labor, so I hadn't BTDT. But turkey and pie postpartum is awfully good.

In the past it has been cheese omlette, hashbrowns, and OJ....also hamburger steaks and mashed potatoes and chocolate cake. This time it will be my Dad's homemade spaghetti which has meatballs, pork tenderloin, pepperoni, italian sausage and pine nuts...I'll coat it with parm yummo!

However, in early labor I always eat prime rib, baked potato, and salad, with juice. I've never bled much at the birth and have always had enough energy to push out my kiddos after 24+hrs each birth. Early labor food and nutrition during labor will help keep your uterus fueled and help prevent pp hem.

Okay now I'm hungry

Much Love

Korean Birthday soup. It is broth with a little beef and lots of seaweed. Yummy and high in iron!
