Night time bed wetting

MY dd2 is 4 ( in 2 weeks! ) and has been in her own bed in a shared room with her sister for a while now. They absolutely love it, and of course she expressed a huge desire to not wear diapers anymore at night time. She has been diaper free during the day time for a little over 2 years now.

Dh and i have been getting her up at night time to take her to the bathroom. More often than not she will have already wet the bed, and occasionally she will have wet the bed in the morning too.

I am thinking that she is a very heavy sleeper, and she also falls asleep very quickly, so possibly she is just not able to rouse herself out of sleep to get up.

Does anyone have any advice?

Try limiting/eliminating dairy.

If that doesn't work, or you can't do that, then waiting it out and putting her in something at night. Some kids just aren't ready to be dry at 4. My niece wet the bed until 12. Our ds is on the same trajectory. He's nearly 8 and no where near dry. Dd is 4 and has been dry at night for 2 years.

I have three kids in diapers at night... 2 yrs, almost 4 yrs, and almost 6 yrs. I feel like the night time diapering will never end. My almost 6 year old never wakes up dry!

my advice would be to let the kid sleep. Put a diaper/pull-up on and don't worry about it.

My almost 4 yo (this month) is pretty much never dry by morning. It's not a big deal and he'll hold it all night (or get up to pee) when he's ready.

eta: I would just explain that wet sheets are uncomfortable and that a pull-up would make it better. I don't know though, because my DS doesn't complain at all about wearing a diaper at night so no experience with that aspect.

kids are all different, my DD was dry day and night by 2, my other son is almost 6 and still occasionally wets the bed (no diaper, though)

Thanks everyone, and thanks meemee for the link to the older thread.
I gave lots of advice, and reminded me that I was much older when I stopped wetting the bed, so possibly hereditary.

Now I just have to convince dd2 to wear diapers again!
