We almost did at 5 weeks, but at the last minute, I decided to take her. I had a bottle pumped and was going to leave her with my mom for 3 hours to go to DH's work function. He didn't think bringing kids would be appropriate. I had told him that when you have a BFing infant, it is always appropriate and no one should expect otherwise. He still wasn't sure so I agreed thinking it might be nice to have a break. Right as we were leaving he mentioned that one of the interns at work was bringing his 5 and 8 year old kids... that was all I needed... into the sling she went! My mom was pretty disappointed 
. When we arrived I met said intern, he was very cool... he said DH had told him we weren't bringing Hazel because we weren't sure if it was appropriate... he told me (and DH) "I just don't think like that, my kids go where I go." It was very sweet
