Enrolling in kindergarten

Thread Starter
DS #1 is fully vaccinated and I am enrolling him in Kindergarten tomorrow. Since we are not going to continue vaccinating our other children, I am curious how I should fill out the forms.

I live in Colorado, and I can simply sign the form stating I have personal reasons against vaccines. Should I provide the school DS's vaccine records for enrollment? They are complete, but then will they want boosters down the line?

Even though he is vaxed, I feel like I should put the same thing for all children. Unless we move, our other kids will be going to the same elementary school in a few years. Does it make more sense to claim none of them are vaccinated?

Are there any risks in saying he isn't vaccinated when he actually is?

thanks in advance!!

As he is up to date now, just give them a copy of his vaccination records. Colorado isn't an all or nothing state, so when it comes time for his boosters, just sign the back of the vaccination form they will give you. My eldest was in the same position as your DS, and no one has ever questioned us. Really, CO couldn't be easier!

yep. CO is an easy state for exemptions. You shouldn't have a problem at all.

Man, I wished I lived in CO! I don't think it's going to be quite so easy in NC when I register my son in a couple weeks. My oldest is almost 8 and is fully vaxed, my middle (the one about to enter Kindergarten) is vaxed until now but will not be getting any of the 5 year old boosters or any new vaxes that have come out (Hep A), and my 14 month old is not vaxed at all (and won't ever be) So I'm not sure what to do. I think I have to do an all or nothing, so I guess I have to tell them he's had nothing...like i said, I wish I lived in CO

and that's fine. I do the same for my oldest who has had almost all shots. I just fill out a religious exemption and as far as the school is concerned, she hasn't had any.

Now, next year the forms are changing in my state (NM) and they will allow you to pick and chose (so, to be more honest) because there might be some parents who are ok with all but the chicken pox, or whatever, so they can just check that box and turn in their shot records for the rest.
