SO dh is still dead set on getting our son, due in April cut. I have, as of now given up talking about it. Any way out of curisity I called our insurance to ask if it was covered, well it is, if its performed after birth, in the hospital. LOL I am having a home birth!! So dh will have to pay out of pocket for it!!! Not saying anything to him about it now but just wanted to let someone know how happy that makes me! :

I hope that he isnt so set on it that he will come up with the money. That has been known to happen before.

Does he know you will not allow it done no matter what?

Stand up firm mama! You need to find a doctor that does not support circumcision and have him/her explain it to your husband. Can you download the circumcision decision video and show it to him? Here it is:

Good Luck and congratulations for having a boy and protecting him!

hey I would definetly make sure that any of the doctors/midwifes know that your not circing your son .

Because in case your delivery may end up being a emergency and you end up in the hospital might as well say Your Planning On Doing a Home Birth but if there is an emergency and I need to go to the Hospital to give birth to full name of boy and your name- state you do not want him circ'ed at all and even if your husband-states his name trys to say 'we want it done' tell them no you don't wan't it done and do not listen to your husband wishes .

Make a threat if circ is done that you will Sue Big Time to anyone who performs a circ on your son.

I would also just say to your DH if you don't listen to what I say it's Not Being Done No More Discussion what ever and make sure you stand your ground.

As the others have said, please don't count on your home birth alone to keep your son safe. Your dh might come up with the money. It's not hugely expensive. You might end up as a transfer. He might decide to take the baby and go in later to a doctor's office -- it's happened.

You really need to be clear with your dh that your son isn't being circumcised, no matter what.

I have heard that in some states you need to have both parents signature do to a circ. I dont know if thats true but it is def worth looking into. Also, with my first son, my husband and I argued and argued about it and I finally told him that he could have it done if he wanted to. The downside to getting our baby cut was that our baby would no longer have a mother as I would be in jail for killing the person that did it. Ovb I wouldnt really have done that but still, it worked. After much digging and probing and gathering of information and repeatedly giving it to my husband, he is in complete agreement with me that it should not be done to any of our children. And in all fairness, I am one of those women who tend to come off as a bitch who always has to have her way, which worked considerably well in my favor this time.
