My ds who is 6 likes to call everyone hot lady, and I find it very offensive. Am I over reacting? Of course my 4 year old has to copy him!!!

Um, no. I don't think you're overreacting. I think it's kind of ridiculous and definitely borderline offensive in the "wow, I wonder what this kid's parents are talking like at home" way. Not blaming--just saying that if some kid said that to me, I'd have to wonder.

Yeah, I'd be pretty weirded out i a kid called me "hot lady" and would probably tell him that I don't like to be called that.

This is your son, correct?

Can you ask him not to call everyone "hot lady" and explain to him why it isn't appropriate?

I think it's kinda funny, although offensive. Personally, I would talk to him and slowly wean it out of his vocabulary, but not freak out about it. It's a fun new phrase, and kids love getting a reaction, but it will probably wear off pretty quickly.

yes its my son, and I'm guessing he picked it up at school. glad to know I'm not over reacting but I do correct him when he says it!

Have you asked him WHY he says it, or what he thinks it means?

If he's saying it to everyone does that include boys/guys?

I don't personally find it offensive but since others would I'd try explaining why it is inappropriate to say.
