OK, thanks to the invaluable input from all you wonderful ladies, I think I've finally decided on a MT (notice the word *think*
)!
Now I also *think* I've narrowed it down to three...your input would be much appreicated!
I need a carrier that's easy, simple, quick and good with a very, very active little boy. I have to be able to put the carrier on and the baby in all by myself. I'll be carrying him while cooking, doing housework, but also going for walks, etc. I don't like the buckles on the SSC's, so I'm going for a MT. I need him to be secure as free hands are a must!
"Little" boy is referring to his age...9 1/2 mos. He's about 22lbs and a foot long - 95th percentile for weight and for length! And very interested in looking around, grabbing, squirming, etc. But wants to be close to mama, too... (I'm enjoying while I can
). He loves our Moby facing out (getting too heavy for it), seems to feel constricted in the hotsling in the hip hold (which is a bummer, because that's how I always hold him - on my hip (no carrier at this point at home).
I am 5'7'', 150lbs, with broad shoulders and widish hips (size 10), avg torso and longish legs. I will be the only one wearing him.
Of course, in these times, $ is an important factor. I do plan to sell a hotsling that I bought a size too big, as well as my barely used Peg Perego stroller...
I've narrowed it down to three - the joey sling, the bamberoo and the kozy. I like that they have wide-ish straps, I like the bamberoo's cross tie under baby's bum in the pics, I like that the joey has the "headrest" that can fold up or down (though I don't really like the joey's prints, but that's not going to be the most important factor). The kozy was the first one that seemed "right", so I'm still considering it strongly.
Oh, PS - do you realistically think I could find any of these used? People seem to be holding on to them...
Help! Help! Help!
Thanks so much, mama's!
