Diva cup smells funny...TMI warning!

So i can't remember how long i've had it. but it has always been fine until this cycle. i pulled it out yesterday, emptied it and noticed a terribly sweet OFF odor. i don't think i have a yeast infection, i haven't been itchy down there. so i put the cup in vinegar overnight. still same smell. i just boiled it, still same smell.

is it possible the silicone is done for and i need to replace it?

thanks.

Do not use vinegar on it!

The care instructions specifically say not to use vinegar - it can degrade the silicone (care instructions are available on their website).

I would try boil, soak in soapy water, scrub with a brush (an old toothbrush you're ready to throw-away), boil again....

DivaCup does sell a wash. Or you could write a letter/email to the company about it. See what they recommend.

When mine gets stained or smelly I like to take an old toothbrush and scrub it with some baking soda and soap. It works great!
