Alzheimer's vax?

I was talking to my mom last night (she has Alzheimer's disease), and it was a pretty depressing conversation. It is very clear that she is getting worse fast. I find it amazing that she manages to be upbeat, knowing what is coming. That would really kill me. She knows exactly what is happening to her. She is really an amazing person.

She still remembers me and recognizes my voice when I call (I live on the other side of the country), but I know that someday she will not. I don't know how I will handle that - being so far away and her not even recognizing me enough to talk on the phone. I cried when I got off the phone, about how she really does not deserve this horrible disease and how unfair life is. I began (for the 1000'th time) to think of the potential that there would be a cure soon (I know, wishful thinking...).

Anyway, I got to thinking about vaxs, and how if there were a vax for Alzheimer's, I would get it for myself and my LO. No question or hesitation. (incidentally, my mom did get flu vax's for many many years, and I read somewhere that there is a link to Alzheimer's, so thankfully I have only had one flu vax and don't plan to get another one). I guess Alzheimer's is one disease that scares the crap out of me more than vaxs do. Anybody else in a similar situation?

I would never get any vaccine for whatever they want to call it because I believe vaccines are the cause of most modern diseases Alzheimer's included.
