My mw is gone...

I know this happened to someone else in this DDC... but I just found out from another thread that my mw is gone... she was just supposed to be on a cruise until next week and now she is gone. I am so mad at her! She said to hold this baby in until at least next monday and had me so comforted that everything was going to happen just as I wanted it to and that we were on the same page. The worse part is that my other mw is out until the end of Feb because she had surgery. I am going to have to birth with a mw that I have only met once and who told me to stop gaining weight cuz I didn't want to have a big baby since I am a skinny girl. Ughhh, I am soooo mad!!!!

Deep breathe. Pray. You are not due until the 11th. It is not an expiration date. you can go over and be just fine. everything works out for our good in the end.

JesiLynne- I know I can go over but if I go over until the 23rd (which is the earliest that she may come back) I might end up jumping off a bridge... lol.

What do you mean by gone?
She's on a cruise until next week? Is that the problem?

I hope you find peace and have this baby with the help of a great midwife who can support you-- no matter who that ends up being!

I know not everyone believes this but I do. I'm not the OP but thanks for the reminder.

she is gone as in she is no longer with the practice... I don't know if the cruise was the truth or not but she is not longer working at the practice.

Wow, that just really stinks! I am so sorry to hear that!

I am with you on the jumping off of a bridge, though!

I am so ready to be done!

I am sorry that you are dealing with this right now

Wow...usually the midwife lets you know if they are leaving the practice and gives due notice. So I wonder what the story is...but either way looks like you will have a different midwife.

With my first birth I had my least favorite midwife but looking back her personality was exactly what I needed while in labor. In other words, she wasn't great with prenatal care since she made comments that I didn't like but was great with labor support.

Wishing you the best.

Thank you gals for the support. I had an appt with the lone mw today and it went really well. I am actually moments away from having the baby. She said I am thinned, effaced, and dilated. She really went out of her way to make me feel comfortable (partly because I was crying in the office) but I almost feel bad for her, she got left in a really crappy position.

Not in your DDC either, but wanted to give you ((((hugs)))). Glad your appt. went well today.

pryncess-

I too am missing Kay!!! and margaret too! Yikes. My DD is Feb 27. I cried the minute I found out on the forum-- was it you who initally posted? I cannot believe how sad/disappointed I am about this development. I worry about Dianne taking on too much and really being left in the lurch--especially by the end of the month.

I am glad that your appointment went well and you liked Dianne. I just hope she handles water birth. She did tell me the one time that I met her that she has never perfomed and episiotomy...

I feel confident that the cruise was the truth b/c she told me about it too-- something she does every year w her 90 y/o in-laws... sigh

so sorry pryncess...i do know that her not coming back was not her choice but a business decision by the docs so know that she wasn't just bs'ing you.

I'm guessing it's just coincidental, but when I was interviewing midwives here in Houston, they were all planning to go on a midwifery fun cruise this past week (or sometime here in early Feb, I forget the exact dates.) I was having a lot of anxiety about my due date conflicting with all their plans. Then, about the time I was feeling like I really HAD to decide on a MW, I found out they canceled the cruise, so I didn't have to worry about it anyway.

I wonder if there was any correlation and maybe it was the same trip as the one your MW was going on?
