If You Were/Are Having a Welcome Baby Party...

When would you do it? DS will be a month old in a little less than a week, but I really would like to have one to let people meet him. We moved on Sunday, to a different state, where a lot of my family/friends are, so this is where I would prefer to have it (which is why we haven't done one yet.) but I'm not sure if it's too late. I didn't really want a lot of people around DS before now, either, so I don't know.

If you had/are having a welcome baby party, what did you do? I don't have any idea about stuff like this.

Well I never had one myself .. but my girlfriend who is due in 2 weeks plans to have an oyster/champagne, welcome party, 10 days after her LO is born ..
I say go with it .. its never to late to have one, IMO .. a good way to "show-off" your wonderful LO !! If you go with it .. have fun !! Good Luck

I haven't had one, but it sounds like a really good idea. One or two months old seems like the perfect time though. They're still really little and new, but old enough for the immune system to develop a little bit. I think in parts of Asia they do a naming party for baby when they are 100 days old.

With my first two daughters we had baby showers at around 6-8 weeks. My third daughters shower was later because she was tiny and we were concerned about her exposure, she was a winter baby to boot.

Lucien will be 12 weeks old on Thursday and my sister has planned my shower for mid Feb. He was too little to do it when he was 6 weeks old and it was Christmas, which is busy for everyone.

He's just over 10 lbs now so he's still little for those who will be meeting him for the first time.

I think you can have a shower whenever it feels best for you!
