adding up all of the hours you've spent researching vaccines, what is the approximate total?

Hours? It's been 7 years. Pretty much every evening.

It's been pretty much every day for 1 year - actually make that more than one year, I was reading up when I was pregnant. And I feel like I have no even scratched the tip of an iceberg.

Hundreds of hours.

oh, sheesh.

well, it's been 4 years since I started researching. Not all day, everday, of course but definitely over 90 hours!

I just thought of somehthing. I haven't spent 1 hour researching vaccines. I have never been part of a deveopment team for vaccines. I have spend hundreds probably going into thousands of hours reading and educating myself about vaccinations, immune systems, promoting health, diseases, public health etc etc etc.

whenever something crosses my hands on the subject I will take a look at it. I have set some of my alerts to new vaccine studies and news articles plus I always read Pediatrics when it comes out, which tends to have info on new studies. From there I will sometimes go look at the actual thing if it is not in full format.

So I would say it's quite a bit when you add in reading here, books, and other news items. greater than 90 I would say since it's been this way for a few years. I also always tend to talk to our doc about new things I have read or questions I have whenever we are in there.

extensively since my son was about 15 months old - he is 3 1/2 now. and I don't just look at what crosses my path, I seek out more and more information. I look at all kinds of sources, evaluate different "theories". I tend to look more at pro vaccination stuff, because they are trying to convince me to use vaccinations, and yet they contradict themselves and their own numbers do not support their cause, so I like to look at that information objectively and not be a blind follower like I once was.

I tend to not talk to drs since they are only educated to believe things one way. also, all the drs I have had growing up have overlooked serious medical problems and then laughed at me when I demanded to be checked out for these things, only to find out I was right and needed treatment.

I would say hundreds of hours for me as well. even if it was only 1 hour a night, and some nights it was more then that, we are looking at over 800 hours of researching this. In reality, it is probably much more, since I often spend more then an hour. If you include the biased research I did prior, that would account for another 2 years of looking into things, though less actively, but probably hundreds of hours during those years as well.

: I said 70-80? but in truth I have no idea. It's been like the above statement for over a year now...

Almost every day for 2 years now - which makes around 700-800 hours.

I said 90+, but I do NOT think you NEED to do that much research to make a good solid informed decision. I only did that much because I'm fascinated/horrified by this whole industry. I reread books I've already read sometimes because its like I *still* can't believe this is going on in the "free world."

So I hope no newbies check this thread, see all of the 90+ responses and decide there is no way they'll ever know enough and give up the idea of researching.

Most of us on here are admittedly nerdy when it comes to our passion for vaccine research.

Also, if you don't have time to research, please feel free to come over to my house and have a beer. I'll condense down my 90+ into a soapbox spiel that will save you at least SOME time

Also, those of us who have done all that reading can save you some time by directing you toward good info, rather than some of the crap that's out there.

XOXO

Since 1996. Off and on of course not every day. There are mos at a time its every day, then life happens and it takes awhile to get back to normal. Way more than 90 hours. Vaxes change, new studies come out, new vaxes come out, schedules change, you always have to stay up to date on your research.

Not quiet this long for me ~ about 2 years but EVERY day I browse new info and research more..

For something that can mean life or death (perhaps not that dramatic- but health vs illness might be better to use), I want to be well prepared since my child is my life so it only makes sense that I'd protect him with knowledge.

Since I got pregnant over 2 years ago. Always reading and looking for updated information. I have created a folder and I print everything out that is relevant for me.

I've read a few books and have looked at websites..I'd say that was probably 10-20 hours. I will look up something every so often but, no not daily.
