I would say at least 600 hours. I have lost count.

I started in 1999 before my granddaughter was born. I was aware of the question from childhood, because my family was anti-vax, but I didn't start seriously studying until I was asked to by my daughter.

It has been pretty steady since then, although not systematic. Hundreds of hours, I'm sure.

My main interest is the history and sociology of vaccination, although I do understand some of the science. I also read books about other drugs and the role of pharma. My most recent read was Poison Pills: The Untold Story of the Vioxx Drug Scandal by Tom Nesi. Many parallels to the vaccine problems, including studies that avoid looking at the actual problem and faked efficacy studies.

Honestly... probably over 1000 hours at this point. Between my schooling and personal interest, I've dedicated so much time to looking up the primary sources and working my way through the derivative information.

4 years (ever since ds was 1yo). Probably averaging every other day or so. Also, along the way, I have researched all kinds of other health issues that get mixed in like antibiotics, fever reducers, energy medicine, homeopathy, etc. I really enjoy learning about all this stuff and it makes me even more confident in my decision not to vax.

I voted ten to twenty hours...I'm just getting started

Almost 10 years... and almost daily! This counts for watching the exemptions status and law changes in my state. I have read the CDC website many times. Watch the new studies, and will prob. for life.

have any of you that have read about vaxes for hundreds of hours ever thought about writing anything yourself on the topic? (not including blogs and message board postings, obviously)

I'm not much of a writer; I love reading and learning though...so I think there are many subjects I have logged countless hours learning about but I would never get into writing but I know many here have written items about vaccine for publication.

Been researching since about June 2007. I used to put in about 4 hours every day when I first got into the issue but now I come and go back to the research every now and then. Way more than 90 hours though.

I voted 90, but like others have said, I have been researching since before my son was born and it's on going. So probably about 5 years now.

I put 40-50 because I have only really really been researching for about 1 yr. I'm sure it is more than the 40-50, but I'm being modest! I basically spend every free second reading something about vax (sometimes I take a break because I am dreaming about vaccinations and MDC...) I will never stop the research though!!!!

I think about it all the time, but the reality is I work full-time and am a mother. I hardly have time to shower let alone write a book.

I was recently invited to write on the subject for another website - but it is blog format, so I guess articles don't count in the way you are asking. Vaccines aren't my number 1 passion though. I am more involved in children's rights, especially from being hit or abused by parents. When I write, it is usually about that. I have been invited by the school to run a support group on this. It's in its early stages.

HAve you considered joining a more mainstream board to talk about pro-vax things? Mothering is more a supportive community for natural minded mamas. while there are mamas here who vaccinate, this isnt really the best place to use a platform for provaccination.

Hilary Butler has written two books. She has two grown children and does legal advisement and testifying world wide. Not all of us are as articulate as she is, however we know what we want for our own children, and that is what life is all about.

If I ever wrote a book about not vaccinating, it would be a human interest theme about growing up raw and vegan in the age of "Leave It To Beaver" and "The Brady Bunch", in a Catholic school in suburban America. It would not be technical and scientific.

I am always seeking the truth for myself. I am sure if I made a big name for myself as a non-vaxer, I would be dead by now.

I blog all my findings on vax. I wouldn't try writing something else because I think there are great people already writing (Sherri Tenpenny being one of my favs). The views have more weight because they are doctors, immunologists, etc. If I wrote something - people would be like "ummm...she's a astrophysicist why is she writing about vaccination?"

The fact is the truth is out there already. The main problem is the fearmongering that is being spread. This makes it a political problem rather than a research-based one. Blogs are great for rebutting this problem.

hahaha...that made me chuckle! im an attorney...who wants to read a book about vaccinations by an attorney. um, even i would find pause on that one.

I like to make sure I know what is out there re: vaccines. I made my decision a few years ago to never vaccinate my children again (2 are full vaccinated, 2 have never had any vax's). Once i became comfortable with that decision, i slowed down on my research a bit...but i still try to keep up to date on issues...like the most recent one of the manufacturer refusing to manufacture MMR separately anymore. so much for parent's rights, huh?

honestly, i think i could have researched for 5 hours and come to the same conclusion..it just took me a lot longer! lol!

I think that would be a really interesting memoir!

I don't think I could begin to count the hours! It was my life for the 1st year of my son's life and is a topic I revisit pretty regularly
