A "my mom has cancer" book?

A very close friend of mine was just recently diagnosed with Hodkins Lymphoma. She is weaning her 2.5 year old right now (which is reallllly hard for her to have to do) and starts chemo next week. She is really concerned about how her son will see this whole thing and I would just love to find a very kind book or two or five for them to read with him. Maybe it would make their hearts break just a little bit less... it would be worth a shot anyway.

Wondering if anyone knows of such a book.

TIA!!!!!!!!

There are some on Amazon, I found them by searching mommy has cancer. I never read any of them though.

My dd was older than that and able to understand what was happening. I think a general mommy is sick book would be fine, at 2 the fact that it's cancer isn't really that important. What is, is that mommy is tired because she is sick. Even with my older dd I liked sticking to what was actually happening, and not what might happen, so I didn't discuss hair loss ect with her until it was clear I had that side effect ( not everyone does). So I'd personally be careful about content and consider what the mom may and may not want shared with her child about her illness.

Good advice from Arudinna.
I am going through chemo for the second time (non hodgkins) and I'd also be careful about the contents of these books.
One book somebody gave me (they meant well) talked about mom going bald and another talked about dying.
I never lost my hair, and the dying part was waaaay to heavy for my 4 year old at the time. Even now, at 6. If I feel like I'm close to dying, then I'll tell him, yk?

Thank you so much for the advice!

Yes, I for certain am not looking for heavy books or books for specific symptoms, just a general my mom is sick and tired and will get better (because she will!). That's why I'm looking for specific titles -- with my own little dude perusing in the book store just isn't an option. And any book(s) I get will go to her for her to look at and decide if they are appropriate, as she will be the one reading with him. Just looking for a simple, kind, age appropriate book and I"m hoping someone who has btdt out there has a title for me.

Thanks again
