at what age will you let your child decide

at what age would you let your child decide if they want to vaccinate or remain unvaccinated (if they brought it up) I know we had a similar question here recently. What would you do personally though? is there an age you would educate them, or let them educate themselves, and then decide? what would you require to feel as if the decision was well considered?

I've been educating them all along, they hear me talk about this stuff when people bring things up, or when we read yet another kids' book or magazine article about "healthy habits" that includes keeping up to date with shots as part of the list.

I am sharing information.

My kid is 19 and has never ever asked for a vax

18. I will be completely open and honest with my children as to why they are not vaxed but if they want a vax for whatever reason, not before they are legally an adult.

They can make the decision when they are adults. I hope to raise them to understand the idiodicy behind the CDC and AAP's vax regime.

I plan to educate as soon as he starts asking which will probably be when he goes into school.

If he wanted to vax and was responsible enough to do the research and come up with good reasons (there aren't many ) then I would be open to it around 16-18 years old.

My eldest is 18 and was vaxed until she was five. She knows why we don't vax, and has decided that she will refuse all vaccinations as an adult. She has already said no to Gardasil. My other two are completely unvaxed and I would be very, very surprised if they ever consented to a vaccination as adults.

I will let dc decide at 18, too, and hope I have educated well enough on the topic of health and wellness that many of my opinions and practices will be adopted by choice.

I do wonder since DC is only 3 what will happen in the later years like 8 or 9 if it is brought up at someone's house. We prefer to keep it private, so I don't think I will be talking about it much until dc is 12 or 13.

Kind of along these same lines, every so often I get a bit concerned about having a boy, and the possible chances of him going into military service. Where they shoot them up to high heaven. I guess I just have to hope he doesn't go into service, but unless there's a draft (which I dont' agree with) it's his choice.

oh of course once they are 18 its their choice, just wondering if there is a point before that that parents would agree to that choice, and their reasons, etc.

I appreaciate the responses so far. I hope it didnt come across to sound like would you stop them if they were adults

I'm one of those "As long as you live in my house you follow my rules." So not at any time before they are adults.

My children are adults and have thanked me for not vaccinating them. They have two cousins with vaccine damage.

I doubt they will want to be vaccinated unless some MD bullies them into it.

I might let my child decide as an older teen, but it's hard to imagine them wanting to.

This.

My oldest is 18 and therefore has the right to decide for himself, now.
My 15-yo has read Just A Little Prick and done research for school science papers on vaccination.

My youngest is 8 and wants to be a pediatrician who doesn't vax.
