Okay, this didn't happen with my son, so I figured it wouldn't happen this time. BUT, here I am... My water broke about an hour ago. It's 2 am here.

Mild cramping; contractions just started about 15 min ago. I don't feel like I'm in labor yet. I've been walking around the house the last 1/2 hour. I think I'm going to take a shower and "do" my hair!

I'd love any prayers and well wishes for a safe MW delivery and healthy baby!

Hopefully labour will kick in soon for you, but if it doesn't, relax, get lots of fluids, vitamin c, check your temp & no exams.

That's how it started with my girl! I started labor only about an hour after my waters broke, but the midwife said it could be a day or more... so relax and get some sleep if you can. Best of luck!

My waters never spontaneoulsy broke either with any of my births.

I hope you have a peaceful labor and birth mama!

My water broke 12 hours ago and NOTHING!! is happening! I went for a check (no internal) and they said try the cohash's and nip stim. I've been doing that, plus walking around the house for about an hour. Still NOTHING!

When they happen, the contractions are good and strong, but they just won't get and keep going! I'm only have like one an hour! Grrr.

I'm so frustrated. Maybe I need to calm down and meditate? Maybe I'm just missing something? I don't know why, I just thought IF my water broke, labor would start... Ug.

Thoughts???

Hang in there. It took 88 hours for labour to start with ds2 after my water broke. I never had a single contraction in that time, either. It starts within 24 hours for about 85-90% of women, though.

Just relax, continue your routine as much as possible. Wear loose or no underwear & sit on clean towels to catch the leaks.

You could try having an orgasm to get labour going, but it might just cause contractions if your body isn't quite ready.

Do you have any idea the baby's position? If it's not in a great position, you can work on that, getting baby into a better position might trigger labour.

As I said before, keep hydrated, get some vitamin c & check your temp every few hours. Labour will start, it just might take longer than you thought.
