Favorite types of closures?

I actually prefer using diaper pins. My ds has learned how to undo the velcro on his diapers. I do have some snaps to use but those get expensive with how many you need to put on just 1 diaper.
Is there something else that is cheap and easy to find? The snapis ( I think that is what they are called ) are not available in my area and my DH does not like me shopping online. So that puts a kink in that option.

I think you covered most the options there...hmmm...what about velcro with a pull-on cover? I don't know how old your ds is, though, the cover might not be enough deterrent. Some people do velcro in the back, but that's tough to do on preexisting diapers. I'm planning on pinning (baby's not due until April) just because it seems versatile. Snappis you can only use on certain materials.

Would your DH be okay with you ordering from a store over the phone? That might be a way to get some snappis. You could call a trustworthy diaper store that's out of area and have them ship. Then, at least, the credit cards aren't going over the computer. Or have a relative buy and pay them back? GL!

I wouldn't recommend normal snaps - unless you can find a mama in your area with a snap press, those diaper quality snaps hold up much better than the metal ones you have to smoosh on yourself.

Snappis are nice, but it's true they only work on certain fabrics. Not on flannel for example. It has to be a weave that's loose enough so the little teeth can grab on.

Did anyone mention aplix (velcro) yet? But you run into the same problem that the stuff you can buy at the store may not hold up to the demands of diapering. Aplix is generally available online.

My ds went through a diaper removal stage (which didn't last long) and I jsut kept a onesie on him then. : )
Good luck!
