Are there any stats on what % of the population are unvaxed? And of those, how many caught...

It seems like more and more people are not vaxing but I'm curious as to whether or not there are actual numbers to be reviewed?

Like, 1 in 10? 2 in 10? 1 in 50? Anybody know?

Here is the CDC website information on vax stats. Looks like if you click on 2007 Figures and you can see immunization coverage per state.

Is death your only concern with regard to VPD's? There are plenty of other things that can happen; deafness, blindness, brain damage.

I think it is about 1%. The vast majority of people are vaccinated.

It depends on the vaccine. Recently Vermont won healthiest state and part of the way they ranked the states was vaccine coverage for children under 4 (i think that was the age)...anyway, I glanced through and no state had numbers over 85% and very few reached that mark. Now, had they broken it down by vaccine it would be different...for example, I think we have high MMR and DTaP rates but much lower complete Hep B and MCV.

After reading the tables k9sarchik posted, I think I was right about the MCV numbers driving down the total coverage numbers in this 'healthiest state' project. It seems all the other numbers are in the 80s to 90s on the CDC chart.

I'm going to chime in here and suggest that when you look at fatalities from diseases, try to get as much information as possible about co-existing medical problems and medical treatment of the disease for those people who died.

OK Thanks everyone. My husband asked me this( % of unvaxed) the other night and I was totally unsure of the number. So the thought is 1%?

He was also curious about the deaths becasue he had someone say something snarky to him so he was curious about the actual numbers.

Let's not forget that if you do a VAERS search for any vaccine and "death", the results come out "suppressed".

I read somewhere that the number was closer to 4% that were unvaxed in the US. I don't remember where I read that at though, it was a few years ago as well.

Do you want to know what population of adults are vaxed? I think its 2%. Immunity to tetanus and diphtheria is pretty low also, maybe 50-70% of the whole population for each. (Let me know if you want a study).

Truthfully I believe the numbers are much higher because if you look into it very carefully and do a lot of reading you do come to the conclusion that there are a lot of super rich, upper echelon folk who have never vaccinated their own kids.

Rockefeller family - they only used homeopathy and the oldest Rockefeller used breast milk when he was over 90 to keep healthy. Now that is something to consider.
Tony Blair's wife was asked about the MMR vaccine in her kids - she refused to answer.
Mrs. Bush was asked about her dd before her husband was president and she said she relies only on natural medicine.

I have come to believe that big pharma want "us" to vaccinate and buy their drugs but "they" protect themselves from that stuff.

I tried finding death statistics to VPD's but the ONLY one that I can consistently find is for measles worldwide and from country to country in Europe.
