New DTaP formula??

A Dr. told a mother I know that in the past she had seen a lot of bad reactions with the DTaP but since they came out with the new formula she hadnt been seeing any.

Is there a new safer formulation on the market now?

It used to be DPT I think. It only took them some 40 years to change it to DTaP. DPT had very bad reactions, but DTaP seems to have plenty of its own.

What the dr told her the new formula is very new like in the last year or so.

I am thinking the Dr. might have lied to her to get her to vax since she went in thinking of doing a delayed schedual.

That sounds like it.

DPT was on the market for over 50 years, since 1940. Based on a reading of the medical journals from 1940 to 1996, doctors knew that the P portion was neurotoxic and continued to use it even though the controversy raged in their own professional journals.

A study by the UCLA Medical School and the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services in the early 1980s linked the DPT shot in Los Angeles County to SIDS.

Keep in mind that whenever a baby dies of SIDS, the police treat the investigation as a homocide with the grieving parents the primary suspects. This was told to me at a first aid instruction class for child first aid and CPR.

So there hasnt been a new DTaP put onto the market since 1996 right?

AFAIK, no.

Doctors often treat their patients as if they know nothing about treatments.

He was just pulling her leg. He must have been in a joking mood that day.

She is very happy she went ahead and did all the schedualed 2 months shots now since her older dd's school sent home a paper saying whooping cough is going around so I am not even going to bother with trying to refute what the Dr. told her

I did however tell her to make sure she watched her dd sleep for the next week more closely.

The Japanese used the aP fifteen years before the Americans. They also vaccinate later, at a year, I think. They have a lower infant mortality rate also.
