1st appt., anyone?

Thread Starter
I had my first appt today, and I was right on for the edd! I have an u/s next week (I have a prolapsed uterus, so they want to make sure my uterus and ovaries are 'holding up', lol) but my ob said that everything 'felt' great today and they 'felt' up, lol! Anyway, I am super pumped for my u/s though, b/c we will get to see the heartbeat even though I will only be 6wks then!

(edited for irrellevancy!lol...)

I have to admit I'm a bit jealous -- I would love to see the heartbeat and feel a little more reassured!

I'll be six weeks on Friday but I'm going to wait until 12 weeks to have my first appointment. I have had two miscarriages in the 9th week so now I am superstitious about making an appointment before 11 weeks. I have thought of trying to get into to have an ultrasound around 8 weeks, but I think I will just wait and see what happens.

Let us know when you see the little heart flutter. That is very exciting!

I had my first intake appointment at just before 5 weeks. It was my first time at that office, so they had to put all my info in the computer. I go back in one week (7wks) for my ultrasound. I have had an ectopic before, so they want to make sure everything is where is should be. My 3 m/c have all been at 6.5 weeks and before, so I am hoping all is well next week. :

I know how you feel. I really really wanted an u/s to hear the heartbeat but I think it would worse for me to get one. I know that something can go wrong even after you hear it so I am just waiting to hear it on the doppler at 9ish weeks. For now I am just waiting and hoping that I will make it through the end of the first trimester, I think I will feel a little better once I do.

my first appointment is feb. 20th - i'll be 7 weeks i believe. i am going to be extremely impatient until then, hahaha. i seriously want to hear the heartbeat really bad - i know it will reassure a lot of my fears of having the baby.

and i know a lot of mamas aren't really celebrating in case they lose the pregnancy, but i just wanted to encourage you all to try & enjoy it regardless. because the truth is, you *are* pregnant right now, and that is further along than many women will ever get - so try & celebrate your body & the miracle it was capable of conceiving! *hugs*

Yes, happy thoughts and tummy flutters to us all! I'm PG the cycle after an early M/C, so keeping thoughts positive. My doc doesn't have people come in before 8 weeks, so I'm headed in two weeks from yesterday, which will be week 8 and 2 days for me (I think, since the timing is hard to figure out after the m/c).

I had my first midwife consult yesterday! No ultrasound or anything, of course - it wasn't even a real appointment, I was just meeting her to see if I like her. And she isn't perfect (she has great stats and seems really hands-off, but still wants to do more than absolutely nothing), but I do think she's going to be my best bet. So I think I have a midwife now, yay.

Thank you for your timely reminder! I feel the same way. I've waited a long time to be able to be pregnant again, and I am going to enjoy every moment of it. I, too, have been nervous about things since TTC, but I keep reminding myself that this is in God's hands, and I am going to love this as long as God lets me.
