Lightly pasteurized vs. store-bought organic

Raw milk in our area is becoming cost prohibitive for our family (and a forty-five minute drive to the farm, to boot).

We have the option of getting lightly pasteurized milk from local grass-fed cows or store-bought organic milk.

Which wold you choose between the two?

FYI, we are not strict TFoodies, but do try to incorporate many Tf principles into our diet. TIA.

The lightly pasturized grass-fed milk. Its local, its grass-fed, its only lightly pastuerized. end of discussion for me, if its affordable.

Organic milk doesn't mean it comes from cows that are grass-fed. all it means is that the confined feed lot cows were fed organic feed. Not good for you or the cows. Light pasturization isn't great, but its not hardly going to kill you. Besides which, the organic milk is pasturized as well, and likely more so. If I were being really good, I'd culture it, however, it will at least have a lot more of the nutrients of grass fed cows than the organic milk will.

Ditto. I used low temp past. milk b4 finding the raw I drink now. It still made a huge difference in my asthma over store organic.

ITA. Unless the farmer is spraying his fields with pesticides or loading the cows up with antibiotics and/or hormones, I wouldn't hesitate to go with the grass-fed milk.

One more vote for the grass-fed milk. I wish I had that out here!

Thanks for the replies. This is the direction I was leaning in as well. The
cows are antibiotic/hormone free and the farms that comprise the dairy offer "large pastures for the cows to wander through and graze on the fresh and nutrient rich grasses" according to the their website. It's delivered to us at home and the time between milking and delivery is usually between 24-36 hours, max.
