I am getting so anxious and I'd also like it to be sweeter. It's been five days, so I finally checked it out. Well, the scoby (which I um, find icky) appears to have this lovely slimey film half peeling off it, but I couldn't get it off. Does that mean it's not ready? It sure smells like kombucha. It looks ok otherwise, although there were a couple of floaty bits floating in it.
Is that normal?
My first batch. Can you tell? Pls help!
Should I let it sit longer?
Can I just throw the scoby in another pot of the boiled, cooled tea if the baby doesn't grow or separate more?
I used water filtered from my fridge, so I don't know if that's good enough, and flavored green tea, and organic cane sugar from frontier. I know it's supposed to be white, but I didn't have any.
