yes - but should you put your child at risk to treat a health problem that doesnt yet exist? the real debate with vaccines IMO lies in the herd immunity argument. when it comes to any individual child, we are still talking about putting them in harms way when 1)nothing is wrong with them and 2)it wont definitely prevent anything from becoming wrong with them, as opposed to treating them if they do catch the V "p" D.

My thinking is that there are many things in my favour minimizing the risk of serious complication:

DS is healthy
DS's diet consists of fresh food
DS has clean water

amoungst others. But I am sure we can agree that being healthy, eating fresh mineral rich food and drinking clean water boost your chances of a full recovery when you are sick. Unfortunately not all children have these things going for them.

When I am looking at the risk of the vaccine I just have no real information to work with. I really do not know what the factors are that make a vaccine more risky and what the factors are that would reassure me that we do not fall into the risk catergory. And the fact that there is not really even any acknowledgement that it is risky at all.

I feel more comfortable going with what I do know rather than trusting vaccinations which in the current circumstances are very much an unkown.

I think it helps that I had measles as a child. So I know that it is more than the common cold, but certainly not lifethreatening.

I'm not sure if that clears things up....
