Does anyone know what this book is?

I read a book when I was in 6th grade or so (1986 or so . It was a book about a girl named Jeremy (I remember that was her name, and how cool it was that she had a "boy's" name) and she had some sort of disease (epilepsy, or diabetes, can't remember) and it talks about her going to school. And I think in one part she tried to make dinner (her mom was either working very hard- I don't remember a dad- or she was not a good mom- I forget) and she made "stew" and put raisins in it (because they were brown, and she remembered stew was brown) and put cola in because it was brown too.

No this wasn't a dream or a hallucination.

Does anyone know this book? TIA

I think you might have a couple of books in your memory. I don't remember a book about a girl named Jeremy with a disease, but I do remember a book with stew.

That book was Backyard Angel, about a little girl named Caroline (called Angel by her mom) who had to look after her little brother, Rags. In one chapter, they try to make stew for dinner for mom, and put in raisins and cola (among other things) and call it Anything Stew.

I found a book about a girl named Jeremy who has epilepsy. It's called "What If They Knew," written by Patricia Hermes in 1980. The description says she is trying to keep her disease from her classmates and ends up having a seizure at school.
