Tell me you know what I'm talking about...

She swears like a sailor under her breath as she walks away from you upset that the world didn't conform to her whim one minute, then she makes the most wonderful delicious dinner for all of us after she is done with her homework and diligently studied for her quiz another.

'Tis the life of a teen. They like to keep us on our toes.

It's called riding the roller coaster of life with a teenager. The only good thing is hopefully by the time she's 18 life will start getting easier for you.

I am so with you...life with a teen is harder for me now than dealing with my two little ones. Ugh...

:

"Roller coaster" is exactly how I'd describe it.

Just remember the first rule of the Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy: "Don't Panic". Remain calm while their storms rage around you, be an island of mental stability in their hormone-fueled mental chaos, and thoroughly enjoy the brief glimpses you get of the wonderful people they'll become once they're through their teen years.

Ripping rags into shreds with your bare hands and screaming into pillows when they're not looking helps a lot, too.

Or, she's running late for school and skewers you with "Mom, do you really think we have time for that?" in her snarkiest tone while you make her lunch. : I gave her heck for that one, then went back to my room feeling very hurt. Then later that day she hugs you and sweetly says she luuuuuves you and that you're the best mom ever.

To this day I feel bad at how mean I was to my poor mother. She still has the apology notes I'd put on her pillow after a big blow up. I dread the years my dd will be in puberty. I can only hope she's not as difficult as I was. I still don't know how my parents managed to raise 4 girls and stay sane. And I pray that my boys will be easier!
