A funny little story (with a moral)

Thread Starter
Tonight I was at work (I am a waitress in afancy resturant) when I was approaching a table with dessert menus.
At the table was Mom , Dad, thier son (maybe 21 22 ) and his girlfirend probably around the same age.
I happend to get there just as the father said, "well you nursed til you were 12" teasing his son.
So I said, "well good for you!" the table laughed and the mom said, "that's so refreshing to hear " and she went on telling me how of course it really wasn't 12 but more like 4 1/2.
then a bit about how crazy it is that woman can be half naked in ads bur heaven forbid they feed their child.
All the while the poor kid is DYING. There he is with his girlfriend and his mother is talking with the waitress about his nursing
The girlfriend's face was priceless and mix of shock and totally grossed out.
then I turned to the kid and said, "Aren't you soo glad I;m your waitress tonight?"
then as they were leaving and just the mom was left I said to her, "Don't worry if they get married they will happy to have a pro breastfeeding MIL"
She started laughing.
And the moral for all you practicing CLW...no matter how old your child nurses 'til,
Please do not share that information with the waitress in front of his girlfriend.

My farking kids actually threw me for a loop with this.I figured I had the "I'll tell your boyfriend/girlfriend how long you nursed" card to pullonce they hit adolescence, but they surprised me by being lactivists and ASKING me to tell an irl friend who was frustrated with her five year old nursling and anyone else online who might benefit from knowing.

I'm pretty sure they told their SO's themselves.

I'm guessing none of DS's friends know how long he nursed. And somehow I can't picture him telling them.

I do know that one assumes she will someday if/when she has a child. Discussion came up when she was caring for a robo-baby. She opted for the bottle option with robo-baby, but did tell me about the "breastfeeding" option that was available.

Alternatively, don't share that information with his girlfriend in front of the waitress.
