It really creeped me out to see them there, like seeing venomous snakes coiled up next to them. They were just born last Friday at 33 1/2 weeks, so they are there for awhile.
I dealt with 2 different nurses, since they are in separate areas. The first nurse was a really sweet, older, grandmotherly type. She put a big "NO" on the form for me, and was going on about how "barbaric" and "horrible" circs are. She told me that there was absolutely no risk of it being done accidentally, but she was very assiduous in highlighting the "NO", and making sure the form was properly filed. The second nurse was very businesslike and not very warm. She wrote a small "no" on the form, and then tried to tell me that I had to sign it. I told her I wasn't signing anything like that, and instead, my mother took the form and wrote a large "NO" on it, like the other.
And then there was Wedensday when I had to go see my OB for a followup visit after hospital discharge. I was stuck in an exam room and kept waiting there for an inteminably long time. During this time, I could very vaguely hear the sounds of people oohing and ahing over how cute a new baby was, followed by the very vague and distant sound of wailing. After I got out, my mother told me that a baby boy had been brought in, that he was extremely calm and quiet and peaceful, and had been taken back to be circumcised, and came out wailing and screaming. So now I know why I was kept waiting so long to see the doctor.
I just hate having to deal with, and be around this sort of f'ng crap. I really wish I could have had these babies in a civilized country.
I really can't wait to be completely done with this OB's office. He has a really great reputation among the natural birth people here, but I find having to be around circs taking place in the office to be intolerable.
Once again, thank you for giving me a place to vent, and pray that I can get my babies out of there without having to go postal on the place.

they will quit asking everyone to sign the form.
