I'm reading 'Conception & Pregnancy' by Dr. Miriam Stoppard and had started reading 'What to expect when you're expecting' but found it confusing so have stuffed on the top shelf out of sight

Oh, and I'm re-reading all the Harry Potter books for about the 10000th time!

I'm reading Born In the USA by Marsden Wagner, M.D. I have lots of good pregnancy books that I have already read in past pregnancies if anyone wants any suggestions.

I'd love some suggestions of good ones. The number out there is really overwhelming!

I had been reading Sheila Kitzinger's book... Complete Guide to Pg and Childbirth. I really like it.

Okay here goes my list!

Pregnancy Childbirth and the Newborn By Penny Simkin and others
I like this book instead of What to Expect When You Are Expecting and Pregnancy Week by Week.

The Pregnancy Book, The Birth Book and The Baby Book-all by Dr. Williams Sears and Martha Sears, RN. They have lots of other books that are great.

The Thinking Woman's Guide to A Better Birth: by Henci Goer
Fabulous! A must read.

Born In the USA by Marsden Wagner

Pushed by Jennifer Block

Anything by Shelia Kitzinger and Ina May Gaskin

That should get you started. I bet you could find some at the library.

If you can get your hands on a copy of the DVD Orgasmic Birth, watch it!!! I don't love the title because I think it is a bit misleading considering very few of the laboring mothers experience an orgasm in the movie, but the message of the movie is RIGHT ON. Lots of positive births. I think a better title would have Euphoric Birth. But what's in a name, right?

I'm reading Having A Baby Naturally by Peggy O'Mara and the Pregnancy Book by Sears. I'm also waiting for Birthing From Within to come into the library via an inter-library loan.

I've read a lot of childbirth/care books already, but right now I'm reading Adventures in Natural Childbirth and I'm really liking it. Next I plan on reading Spiritual Midwifery and then re-reading Ina May's Guide to Childbirth.

I'm not reading anything yet but i'm calling to make an appt. with the midwives tomorrow and then i'll raid their library! Our local library is brutal and i'm acutally reading "The Total Money Makeover" right now so I guess I shouldn't buy any books. lol
