How long after amalgam removal is TTC safe?

I know it has been talked about I just can't seem to find it. I have probably 10-12 fillings that I will be getting replaced hopefully in March-April with all the safety protocols in place. I will be chelating afterwards, not sure with what yet. Dh just said we could start TTC as soon as it was safe:

You need to have the amalgam removal, begin chelation 4 days or more after removal, and chelate as long as is needed to remove the mercury. Depending on how toxic you are, it can take 6-24 months of chelation. Then wait 6 months before TTC.

www.noamalgam.com is the website and chelation protocol I recommend. It's the one I'm personally using.

Thanks krankedyann! I am not sure how toxic I am. I do think some of my problems are hg related. I have not been tested per say...I had a quantum biofeed back session and mercury was at the top of my list. I have not had a hair test or other test done. Should I get a hair sample tested or other? I am nursing an almost 3yo 1x/day, not sure if that skews the results (thought i read that somewhere on mdc). Once I have done the chelation how do I know i am done? Thanks!

The hair test you want runs about $70 through DDI. Join the yahoo group Autism-Mercury in order to get their information on the group discount. Otherwise, it's $100.

You know when you're done based on symptoms and repeat hair tests and knowing that each day of ALA+DMSA that you do removes about 1% of your remaining body burden. So 125-50 days on-round is normally needed to get close to zero. Of course, some people who aren't very toxic don't have to do that many. The book says if you're mildly toxic, you should see great leaps in your health the first six months. I'm toxic and I've seen great leaps in five rounds. Today I began round six.

I seriously recommend the www.noamalgam.com book and the yahoo group frequent-dose-chelation to get information and support and a group of people who are far more knowledgeable about it than I am.

One of the criteria I'm using to tell that I'm done is when I can keep going up in dosage, especially on the ALA, without side effects. The side effects of ALA are related to it moving metals--so when you have a low level of metals left, even high doses should be fairly easy.

Krankedyann--I'm glad you're seeing improvements! :::

Thanks for the links ladies. I will be checking them out. Is there a way to get the the no amalgam book for cheaper. We're really strapped for cash and don't have much to spare. I checked my library already...

I just noticed a copy on ebay... but I don't know a reliable way to get the book cheaper.

Here's a site that I've found helpful for reference:

http://home.earthlink.net/~moriam/ANDY_INDEX.html

And the frequent-dose-chelation yahoo group has quite a bit of info, either in Files or in discussion, on how to chelate. They strictly follow Cutler's protocol, which has its good and bad points (definitely mostly good IMO, but it's hard to have discussion of ways to make it even better/easier, at least it seems to me).

And for some personal experiences of how it's gone (I read this thread a lot, it really helped me):

Well, my link pulled up a page in the middle, but it's worth starting at the beginning.

Thanks Tanya, it is all a bit overwhelming to me right now. All I can think about is the baby I will get to conceive...
