To answer your question, Aubrey, my family loves how large our family is. My husband jokes that I drive him to drink with all my babymaking, but he is a willing participant, obviously. We need to be done after this, though, because they are expensive and I want to be able to send them all to college and still retire! Plus we are going to run out of room in our house if we have any more than 5. I think 5 is a nice round number. It always reminds me of the movie The Family Stone. I want to get as much love and return as much as the mother in that movie received and gave.

i wish i was in a place where i would celebrate another pregnancy, but im not. rue is still so small and nursey and im sleep deprived and all of that. but it would be fun, in a perfect world! maybe next time.. im sure you will have another some day!

Jenny, yay, a mom-of-many-to-be ! I met my Forever Husband a bit later in life, at 30, so I don't think I have time to have 8 kids. haha. I'm 35 now. But I have had a baby every 2 yrs since we met so far, so maaayybeee we'll just keep going. Who knows!

Jamie, I hope you're feeling more positive about things. Sometimes I wonder if my scary-negative thoughts are some kind of premonition that there is actually something wrong, or are the thoughts simply fear of getting super attached to my baby only to lose it. Everyone fears getting hurt! I know you will be fine & so will your baby.

ujkcih Cool, another with #5 on the way! Yay! I actually saw 2 more women listed on one of the introduction thread that are on #5 - kawa kamuri and faerierose. So that makes 6 of us I think? How cool is that!

firewoman, that's too funny. My dh & I constantly joke & tease each other about all our kids as well. I love to repeat that line from Its a Wonderful Life where he's all "Why do we gotta have all these kids??" in his whiny twang. I'll have to look into that movie you mentioned, I've not heard of of it. My family has all been supportive so far. I was nervous to tell my mom because she's made it clear that she thinks we're messing up our marriage by having kids instead of traveling or "having lots of sex" (she actually said that). Oy. I tell her we can travel & git busy alllll the remaining decades of our lives, these here are our brief reproductive years & we're having a wonderful time!

Seems to me, Aubrey, you guys ARE having LOTS of sex! We do over here! Our love life is better than 90% of the married couple we are friends with and we travel as well, we just take all of our kids with us! They have been to the Bahamas and to Hawaii twice. Now with the econmony slow down we are being careful with our money and just have been camping every few months. It is a freakin' BLAST! I think it is all perspective. If you focus in on how difficult it will be, then it will be difficult. If you focus on all the love and happiness that comes out of a large family, then that is what you experience.

LOL!! No, not exactly as it does sound incredibly challenging. I only say that because I have tone of twins on both sides of my family. Just rather be open to all possibilities, know what I mean? I really don't fantasize about it either, haha!! I'm just happy to be here! :
