Could this be a sign of labor?

Starting yesterday evening I was having loose bm's (TMI). Felt fine otherwise.

Today I was also having the same thing, only as the day progressed I began to feel achy and and just sort of like I was sickish. No appetite really since yesterday morning. Lower back has been hurting too. My stomach doesn't hurt, I have no fever, and no one in the house has had a tummy bug. I looked it up online and read this:

"Diarrhea or flu like symptoms without fever. Indigestion, nausea, or vomiting are common a day or so before labor begins."

Has anyone experienced this? I've had a lot of frequent BH's the past two days as well. I'm hoping against hope that I am not sick and that it is the beginning of something. Dh is at work all night and was totally unhelpful when he was home. He left me with a messy house, and a kid with a poopy diaper. I was in tears because I don't feel like cleaning everything up, but if I go into labor my house will be a mess. Anyway, sorry...little rant there.

Has anyone else gone into labor after having these symptoms?

Okay, everythingt I'm about to write is TMI! Lol!

I don't know, but now I'm curious, because yesterday and the night before I was having indegestion-- almost thought I was going to throw up-- and I had lots of contractions and lots of very loose stools. I know the baby dropped a lot lower-- now I can barely walk! And I am still having contractions here and there and loose stools today. Interesting!

Oh, I've been having lots of cervical mucous, too, for a few days. No blood in there, but still.

We'll have to see what happens!

DDC crashing...

The 2 days before I went into labor I had an increase in energy, and a HUGE increase in BM's - like 4/day as opposed to 1/day.

I hope things are starting for you ladies!!

I think it's normal for your body to sorta purge itself from all sorts of stuff before you go into labor...like a little cleanse it does. I'd take some emergen-c and drink lots of water and go to bed early if you can.

I have had an increase in energy-- I am getting a LOT done-- hmmm, kind of like a nesting thing-- mopping floors, catching up on dishes and laundry, totally organizing the boys' room, cooking and baking all kinds of things, vaccuming and even taking the vaccum cleaner apart twice to unclog it, lol!

And yeah, I've been popping a LOT, um, more than 4 times a day . . .

Thanks for your experience.

I hope it is the start of something! : Of course it may not be. Sigh.

Yikes, do you think I could've just ruined things by virtue of the fact I just baked some totally unhealthy double chocolate cookies and ate two plus some batter? I do kind of feel like throwing up, it wasn't a great food choice. Oh well.

I've been wondering about the sick feeling too. I've been SOOO strange the past couple of days. One minute I can't even talk myself into getting off the couch, letting my DD watch HOURS of Mickey Mouse just to get a nap. Don't even care if I eat dinner if it means I have to move. Then the next minute it's 11:00PM and I'm cleaning the whole house, full of energy, feeling great. I've also been feeling really good sometimes, cheerful, going for long walks, energetic and the next minute I feel like I'm gonna throw up, tummy ache, pooping like crazy, and being so mean to everyone that talks to me!

So I have no idea what to think about what my body is doing! I'm three days past my date and my midwives (hospital, not homebirth) are putting all sorts of pressure on me already to do NST and ultrasounds. It makes me want to deliver even more to get them off my back!! I hope my crazy swings in mood and feelings of physical health are a sign, I can't last too long like this!

I've been feeling the same way. I'm due on Tuesday. No consistent contractions though.

Just so you know, the NSTs are totally non-invasive. They take about 20 minutes, and they just track the heart rate and baby's movements and the tension in your uterus.

I know they are non invasive and I actually wouldn't mind doing the test. My problem with it is because they already know that I am pretty firm against induction my fear is they will use the tests to try and find something that is just a little off, or something they can twist to be off with the baby or myself so that they have reason to induce me.

I also just want to treat my body, baby and pregnancy normally until I become abnormal (past 42 weeks when we are actually post dates) I hate that just because my due date came and went I'm not just a healthy pregnant woman anymore!

I'm 41wks 2days. I don't know what it is. I just really can't tell if I'm sick or what?! I really hope not, because if the kids catch it my mom won't take them when I have the baby...and this was going to be my first time ever to have someone help out.

I have days like you Passionatemama...where I am feeling really yucky for a long time and then all of a sudden I'm full of energy and working on the house etc.

This is SO frustrating. Way past my due date and possibly sick. Ugh. I wish dh were home so that I could sleep!

I'm all swollen, could that be a sign ?
I have loose and frequent BM, nausea, crankiness. I lost my mucus plug yesterday. I'm having contractions 8-12 min apart that hurt but not a lot. I so want this to be "it."!!!

I'm not sure about that. I've had swelling off and on for months. You're probably just retaining some fluid right now.

I hope it's it for you too!

Well, it was not a sign of labor. But I think it was "pre labor" stuff.

Now though...dh has some horrible viral thing (I'd say flu but he doesn't seem *that* sick)...and now I've been achy and feeling like I'm catching it since yesterday. It hasn't gotten worse yet though so I'm hoping against hope that I don't get it like he has it. And the kids...
Oh goodness. To be as overdue as I am and have a sick household and maybe myself as well...I've been crying.

Well I am not in labor yet but I am definitely experiencing prelabor stuff.

Thanks!

DD has it now, and dh is still really sick. I've been achy all over for days...but no other symptoms. I'm hoping this is all I get and that I won't wind up with the full blown thing.

So far the boys are okay, but we shall see. Just hoping baby holds on until at least dh is well.
