UGH! I simply cannot find a source for raw milk.

I live in OH (one of the states raw is illegal) and I simply cannot find a source for raw milk. I know a lot of farmer's, shop at the farmer's market every week, talk to everyone I know about it, and I just can't find any! I know someone who is willing to give me some occassionally, but she doesn't 'test' it for anything, and since I'm pregnant I feel like it should be tested. I'm so frustrated and mad! Why can't raw milk be legal here? It would be so much easy to find quality, safe, raw milk if we had access to it. I hate this!:

Any chance you could get a goat? They don't take up much space and my understanding is that they are really cheap to feed.

Are you anywhere near any Amish? That would be the easy way to get some, though they can be hard to find since they don't exactly advertise on the 'net!
Looks like there's a few listed on realmilk.com. Are you near any of those?

Have you tried talking to farmers who make goat cheese? If you approach it right, they may be willing to do a goat share for some of their milk before they pasteurize it.

Where in Ohio are you? We are in Toledo and love our farmer near here!

Do you feel the milk has to be tested? Is your friends farm clean, and are the cows getting good nourishment? My source of raw milk isn't tested, but I trust the farmers, and they are pretty clean. I am pregnant, and I feel good about the milk. I wonder how others feel about how important the testing is. If it is illegal in Ohio, I don't know how many farmers will actually get it tested.

Where are you at in OH? I actually have two different herd shares atm, due to one being a seasonal dairy. Ones up in S. Canton, the others down in Waynesburg (closer, my normal one). I know theres others around too though!!

ETA: I don't think either one 'tests' their milk. But I'm pregnant too and drink and am just fine.. and I trust them to be clean and all. I've seen both's farms and they're wonderful.

FYI For those of you dealing with state lines and the sale of you know what, make sure to read this link and take action.
