Family beverages?

What kind of beverages can I offer my family besides milk and water? I am making kombucha, but I just noticed some articles on the internet regarding "dangers" of kombucha (yeast infections, deadly bacteria...), so I want to read more about that before I continue with kombucha. (Anyone know about these supposed "dangers?") I tried making the ginger ale in NT but that is certainly not going to be something my kids will want to drink! I notice there are other beverage recipes in NT (orangina, punch, etc.), but I hesitate to try them because most of the recipes I've tried from NT just don't work (cream cheese tastes like sour milk, mayonnaise is runny and globby, ginger ale is thick and not appealing to look at, ...). I'm tired of spending valuable time and ingredients without a useable outcome. So, what drinks does your family enjoy? Thanks!!!!!!

Water kefir! Probiotic benefits in an easy to make (and cheap) beverage that can be flavored with fruit (dried or fresh), juice, etc. I add 1/2 cup lemon juice to 2 qt. water kefir and it makes a fantastic lemonade.

We pretty much stick to water 90% of the time, but also enjoy hot herbal teas (or iced, even), occasional raw milk - we usually culture it in one way or another (kefir, fil mjolk - make into smoothies or drink plain) & raw milk egg nog, which is probably everyone's favorite. Oh, and 'bucha.

We drink a lot of water and herbal tea. We often add slices of lemon, lime, or orange to our water.

Just to reassure you, Kombucha does not have the dangers some people like to pin on it.
The fact is, it is a very powerful healer, and in my experience, is seen as a threat because of how it heals.
I had very real problems with yeast, and every last speck of yeast trouble disapeared within a week of starting to drink the stuff.
I no longer have sensitivity type headaches either.
My mothers gout and migranes vanished, and here's the kicker-a close friend had a slow degenerative liver disease. Her enzyme levels were at 500.
A couple of months after starting to drink Kombucha, her enzymes went down to normal-45.

A thought on your mayo.
Make sure you are dripping the oil into the blender. We make ours with the light olive oil, since it is not strong tasting.
And, make sure you are using a bit of whey, and curing it for the seven hours on the counter.
It will be thicker than store bought.

Before trying a new recipe in NT, check in here with the ladies, and find out what we have done.
Many of us have been using NT for a long time.
I only refer to it occasionaly now. I am able to "flip" most recipes out there now.
Don't be discouraged
