is the movie version of Twilight based only on the first book?

(I'm asking because my daughter and I just saw Inkheart, and they pulled from both that book and the sequel, Inkspell.)

Isn't that almost always the case? Even though I know it won't be as good as the book, I still want to see it.

It gets better with multiple viewings, when you can start to look at it as separate from the book. Also, be prepared for really low budget special effects.

It wasn't as good as the book, but still very teen angsty (Is that a word?)

I think the only movies I aver saw where the movie was better than the book (IMO) were Shining Through and The Princess Bride

It's just the first book. There was just a big casting call here in Vancouver, looking for people to audition for the movie based on one of the other books. I can't remember the name, because I haven't read Twilight, but it apparently takes place largely on a native reservation (the casting call was for First Nations youth).

They're already preparing to shoot New Moon ... and Taylor Lautner has beefed up considerably for his role - which will obviously be a much bigger one in this movie.
