I'm in Labor!

Woke up around 2ish with regular back pains that I finally realized were contractions. Since then I've been cleaning and organizing and swaying through the contractions. I have a little pink tinged show. Called the midwife to give her a heads up, and plan to call my parents in a half hour or so, so they can come get 3YO DS early this morning, when he wakes hopefully. I can't stand the thought of waking him to send him off to try to sleep at the hotel with mom and dad. I think we should have time for him to sleep here tonight... DH is catching some Z's, too.
They are strong...but I am visualizing the turtleneck of my cervix stretching over her head each time, and rocking my hips really helps getting through them. And standing up to lean on the counter.

Still hanging in there. I almost puked! That didn't happen last time. I'm also "emptying out", which didn't happen last time, either. But, my water hasn't broken, which is how my last labor started.

Congrats! BTW Consider Keeping the 3 YO!

My 3 y.o. REALLY enjoyed being at his sister's birth, they bonded RIGHT away, and, to this day, he has NEVER 'acted out' with her -- He also loves relaying this special memory! My 4 y.o. daughter actually acted as a mini-birthing coach, and has decided she can't wait to have a natural child-birth like mommy! :-)

If this is not your comfort zone, then don't! :-) --just wanted to let you know that it can be a great experience (most moms don't even think of it an an option -- I didn't, until my Bradley instructor suggested the thought)! :-) (My mom stood by to take kids out, if they had been uncomfortable, or, if I had needed things perfectly quiet).

Hope your labor is QUICK and and easy! :-) Lots of HUGS!!!

This is how my #3 (born in July) started -- just to warn you, she was a QUICK labor and birth! :-) (It was great -- short period of pain, and then my arms filled with my warm bundle) -- My water did not fully break until she was born--

With my #2, I had a flood first (so, I THOUGHT we were going to fly through), and his labor was 20 hours ;-)

Hi, ladies. It is my first foray back to the computer since baby girl (still haven't picked her name) was born at 3:54 Feb. 7, 2009. My milk is in, and she spent last night nursing and pooping and keeping me and DH busy. She is adorable, of course, and I am feeling pretty well. I do have some nice stitches to slow me down a little! Thanks for all your support. Labor was such an adventure. My contractions stayed almost the same from 2AM until about 2PM the next day! 5-10 minutes apart and manageable. Then, the midwife talked me into laying down to rest, as I had been standing or sitting or walking for the previous 12 hours. Two contractions later, my water broke in bed, and she was born within an hour. I started feeling like pushing immediately once my water broke.
Nine pounds 4 ounces!
