Just practicing for when people call and ask me to do stuff.

No I'm sorry I can't, I'm working. When I'm writing I'm working. But I tend to not take it seriously enough simply because it isn't paid work. And then when they ask what I'm working at I stumble and minimize it like it's not important to me. I've always written, I've always done that.

Good for you! Keep practicing, it is hard to take ourselves seriously, I know I don't yet. I take Fridays off from my "real" job to write, but somehow I always end up going in to finish something up or to meet with someone (because they always ask me if can - to them I'm just taking a day off). The rare Fridays I do stay home to write Facebook or dishes or some other stupidness distracts me. No winning!
