Bathrobe- weird! How bizarre! Sounds like you did the appropriate thing, though!
PastVNE- cool, sounds like good work in the house! How do you like the bamboo?
Dooney- sounds like a broken blood vessel, I think that's normal and will go away. Doesn't hurt to ask at the next appt though.
I agree with everyone- the prodromel/prelabour does really take a toll on you. You think it's going to happen anytime! This time I'm not taking any stock in it- last time with a couple weeks of it I got very frusterated, emotional and cranky. PastVNE- you said something about prodromel vs Braxton Hicks...I've found the info on this to be confusing and not very clear- some texts consider Braxton Hicks to be pre-labour, but I don't agree. I think the difference is that prodromel labour feels like the beginning of labour, but doesn't go anywhere, at least not immediately. I suppose pre-labour and prodromel labour could be the same thing, but I guess in my head I think of prodromel labour as happening weeks before the real thing, and prelabour is the warm up before labour. However, that's not necessarily true. I'd be interested in hearing what others think.
In my experience, I have lots of braxton Hicks contrax, and some can be seriously strong and into my back and pelvis. But when I started prodromel labour I'd get bouts of contrax that were different than BH, but not regular and not progressive. When I finally did go into labour I knew almost immediately that these contrax were different than both the BH and the prodromel. So that's why I don't agree when pre/prodromel labour is stated just as BH.
A surprise shower was thrown for me today!

: It was such a nice treat; I totally didn't know it was happening. It's my 3rd baby and I already have a boy and girl, so I don't really need anything. I suspected something special might be going on because my sis-in-law tipped me off, but I could have been wrong and it seemed clear it wasn't today. My mom and girlfriend and I planned to go to an art show opening this afternoon, and on the way my mom said she had to stop at my husbands aunt's, to pick up some insurance papers. I said, 'weird', but didn't think a thing. My mil waved me in to 'see her new table', and I walked in and there were people sitting around and they all yelled, 'surprise!'. Daft, pregnant me, looked at them and the presents and said, 'SURPRISE FOR WHAT?!' Duh!!! I had no idea. Actually, someone said 'a surprise shower for YOU!' and I said, 'right now!?'
I got some new clothes, which is a treat, and some other nice things, including natural laundry soap and stuff. It was nice to be pampered and eat cake.
