Any brushes with fame? - Page 4

I really haven't met anyone that great. I met Jennifer Love Hewitt when she was about 16, she was filming a short lived show in OR where I lived. She was very nice but wasn't really famous yet. I also met the band Lifehouse after I saw them in concert. They were all very nice and Jason Wade was super hot! I almost met Robin Williams when I was young, he was filming What Dreams may Come and was staying at the same lodge as I was in Glacier National Park.

My sister has met a lot of celebs (she lives in LA and works at a clothing store). She said that Kristen Davis is really sweet (and is a size 4 lol) and that Orlando Bloom acts like a diva. She said that Jake Gyllenhaal is really nice and down to earth and that Laura Flynn Boyle is weird and super skinny and that Paris Hilton is just like she seems, an airhead and bratty. She has met a lot of other people too but I can't remember who. She isn't too impressed with celebs, I think I am a lot more excited just hearing about it than she is seeing them lol.

Oh and when my husband was in the military he met Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt.

When I was a kid I lived in ND and my dad worked at a country music radio station. I was a huge Garth Brooks fan. When he came to town to do a concert, my dad surprised me with backstage passes! Garth gave me a hug and everything. He was really nice. We gave him a gift for his (first) baby daughter, who was a newborn.

A few years ago my DH and I went to Roloff Farms here in oregon...you know, Little People, Big World? While I couldn't summon the courage to actually approach any of them, I did see Jacob and Amy and Zach. This was a week before the big trebuchet accident. We got a nice pumpkin, and we got to see where Matt built the pirate ship and tree house and old west town.

Luis Palau has given several sermons at my church since I've been there. He likes to joke around. He lives in the same town as my church.

I used to work in public relations and met plenty of famous people that way. I used to go to "Gift Suites" and give them free trips to exotic places. : Met lots of people but I'm glad I don't do that anymore!

I met Courtney Cox and David Arquette who were quite nice, and Jeremy Piven from Entourage was surprisingly charming when I met him though I dunno how I feel about him anymore....Let's see, I've met the cast of Heroes and Lost, just when their shows were gaining popularity....Ran into Britney Spears (pre-crazy) at an Urban Outfitters store; met Brangelina at a the premiere of Mr. & Mrs. Smith (my love for Brad is unwavering) - that was probably my most favortie brush with fame!!!!

This was a fun thread to read.

I saw, but didn't talk to, Bonnie Raitt in a cheese shop in Seattle. She chatted with the girl behind the counter. She seemed very nice. I kept looking at her and then asked my brother "Is that Bonnie Raitt?" I mouthed it...not outloud. He just nodded.

My brother has met James Taylor ( said he's very nice) and I think John Williams.

:

On the phone with my brother. He said John Williams was really nice, like a grandpa. He also met Patrick Stewart ( Jean Luc Picard) and he was a SUPER nice guy and a very hard worker, very professional.

My exboyfriend was a bodyguard and met celebrities all the time but this is his best story.

He was in NYC with another bodyguard who was from the UK. They had taken their principal (person they were guarding) back to her hotel room and were on their way back down in the elevator. The elevator stops and two women get on the elevator. One of the women says to her friend, "Do you have any gum or mints or anything?" The friend says no. The bodyguard from the UK offers her a mint and also her friend- they take one and say thank you. Since he found the women attractive he continues to flirt as he puts the mints away and says, "Cigar, candy, cigarette?" You know, like the old time cigarette girls at the clubs, right?

The woman glares at him and gets off at the lobby.

The guy turns to my exboyfriend and says, "Well that didn't go well did it?"

And my exboyfriend says....

wait for it....

"That's because you just offered Monica Lewinsky a cigar."

LMAO!! Offering a cigar to Monica! That kills me!!

I have met Bill and Hillary ( my family is from Arkansas..) and Andie McDowell is a resident in Asheville and I've run into her here and there. Also, when I worked at the YMCA, Harry Connick Jr ( spelling? ) was in town and he came in and worked out on the treadmill. Yes, I abandoned my post and peeked at him but didn't speak to him. Oh! Also, Ricky Shroeder was a family friend when I was a kid. He was a little bit older than me though.

My hubby has met more celebs, mostly musicians. Like Sheryl Crow and Ben Harper/ Laura Dern with their baby.

This thread is so much fun to read!
