Permanent teeth coming in slightly crocked

Thread Starter
His 2 bottom teeth have fallen out and the permanent ones are about 1/2 way in. One is coming up behind the other, I am going to load a photo.
I am wondering is this normal, do they normally straighten out after he looses more or how does this all work?

Thanks!

I don’t have answer but wanted to bump this thread since I am also wondering if the permanent teeth shift once they come in. My son lost one bottom tooth last month and the new tooth came in fine. The other bottom front tooth hasn’t fallen out yet, but the permanent tooth is coming in behind the baby tooth and will be obviously way back out of line with his other teeth. I can call our ped dentist next week and ask but just noticed it this morning and was wondering.

When I was a child, I had fourteen baby teeth pulled by an oral surgeon because my permanent teeth were coming in and the dentist was afraid they would be really crooked if we didn’t pull the baby teeth, so maybe they don’t shift once they are in or else he w/h just allowed them to fall out on their own time. (I should mention this was almost forty years ago and may not be the practice now.)

Crooked teeth are the result of the palate not growing wide enough to accomodate the teeth. This is not genetic but nutritionally caused. Weston Price DDS studied this for decades including hundreds of native societies on high nutrient traditional diets (no processed foods) with perfect straight teeth and no cavities. He also studied hundreds of skulls generations old and it was only the advent of modern processed foods which produced this sort of human anomaly: the need for braces.

Traditional diets contained 10 x the amount of fat soluble vitamins and 4 x the vitamins and minerals of standard modern diets. If the body doesn't obtain adequate minerals, it puts priority to protecting the growth of the skeleton and less priority on the face and palate. Once you know this, look around you and you will see narrow palates and weak chins and long faces and more prominent noses with flat cheekbones and pinched nostrils and know this is because of modern nutrition. Looking at some children with narrow faces, weak chins, jug ears and narrow jaws and seeing their parents or grandparents with wide faces and wide palates will make this clear.

See WAPF link in my sig. for more explanation and pictures.

Another interesting article on facial development:

I'm no expert but can tell my permanent teeth story.

My two top front teeth grew in facing each other. Picture a narrow V pointing into my mouth. My parents were freaked.

Once other teeth fell out the front two started to straighten. I now have dentists asking me how long I had braces...but I never did. My teeth are all extremely straight and well placed. I guess I lucked out.

So, it could be nothing. But I'd keep an eye on them just in case...

Examples of wide faces who had adequate nutrition to express their genetic code, I'd love to know what they ate growing up!
Terry O'Quinn and Josh Holloway
they have wide faces and palates, strong square chins and flat ears.

My husband has a face like this, perfect straight teeth very wide jawline and face, he ate a lot of dairy esp. cheese and cream and butter from pastured cows in Wisconsin and eggs which is very like the traditional diet Price recommends.

Modern faces similar to Price's pictures that he took on his travels around the world:

Freddie Highmore clearly didn't have enough nutrients to support the growth of his facial structure as he grew as his chin stopped growing. This kind of imbalance to a face is not genetic.

Nor did Michael Phelps with his extremely narrow palate that lengthened his face and produced a gummy smile, flat cheekbones and jug ears. Interestingly enough, his short legs and long torso also speak to nutritional deficiency as his legs stopped growing before they were meant to. His diet as frequently reported contained a lot of white flour and junk food.

And so, whether your teeth can straighten as you grow is whether your diet contains enough nutrients to support growth spurts. I can say from experience that my son's palate widened as he grew, I have posted pics in the Traditional Foods forum showing this. His lower teeth are coming in a bit crooked but his face has widened so I expect that lots of mineral rich raw milk, cod liver oil, seafood and pastured eggs as he grows will continue to correct the small chin and palate he was born with. That thread has a bit of info from Francis Pottenger lmk if you want me to find it. I need to post an update pic anyhow!
