Hi all.. Just a note, I am not trying to sell this on here, I just wanted to get ideas..

I am thinking of doing something custom made to sell on ebay. I know there are alot of autism awareness items, which I think are great.. So I came up with an idea and I wanted to see what you all thought? I wanted to get opinions because if I buy these mugs I have to buy 12 at a time at $5 each. Just want to make sure its worth it.. Also I appreciate any suggestions on how I could make this better if you have any. The website has a design program that you use... Here is the mug I might be ordering..

Thanks everyone!!

You have a space in your URL. Here, this should work

It isn't really an etsy kind of a thing. Etsy is for handcrafted items.

You could use that design and put it on product using cafepress.com or zazzle.com to sell directly.

it's a little passive for me. I would like something that made a stronger statement.

its very pretty!

I do agree that its a bit passive, I think its perfect!

I think it is very pretty. I don't know that ebay is quite the right market though.

Sorry for being so late on this one... life gets in the way of forum time.

Hmmm... I would ask if you can upload your own image to that mug store. If so, I would maybe do something different with the graphics but still getting the message across. I think people would pay more for something more personal and specific to autism. For example... what is one of the main issues with autism that other moms or caregivers would relate to? My brothers best friend was autistic when we were kids... as I recall, he wouldn't look me in the eyes and was often hard to connect with. (I don't mean for that to sound negative. I apologize if it does.) So what if the wording was something like "I connect with Autism" or "to someone with Autism" "I connect with Autism" or similar. You could do a crayon or drawing of a heart or two hearts that isn't fully formed, like its being connected?

If your reason for the mugs is to display that you are proud of that person, I would make it more strong in that aspect. If its to promote Autism awareness, maybe have a link to an autism awareness site...

Sorry I can't be of more help. I guess I would need to know more details.

Personally, if I had a child with autism, I would want to promote awareness. But thats just my two cents.

I had meant to get back to answer this then forgot. Ebay is a more appropriate market than etsy for sure, I guess I misread that. I don't know how well they would do on ebay.

Cafepress.com and zazzle.com are really easy. You start an account, which is free :. In cafepress you open a store (choose between free and for fee, since you just have the one design I would start off free.) In zazzle you get a gallery. Then you upload a JPG or PNG image file. Finally you choose items to place it on.

Instead of having a single style of mug, people could choose from several, as well as shirts, bags, banners, hats, etc. Best of all there is no upfront cost, and you don't have to deal with shipping and billing etc.
