I know all this info is in the books (i have one on order from the library that I'm waiting for), but I was just wondering what you are cutting out of your diet now that you got your BFP. Seems like some people have different opinions on this so lets hear it!!!!

For me decreasing my caffiene intake, I normally drink lots of black and green tea but I reduce to 2 cups of green or 1 black tea a day, no raw foods like sushi or unpasterized cheeses, my steak becomes well done instead of rare and no deli meats (we just had a big listerosis outbreak in Canada and it is not worth the risk to me). Not a huge list and I try my best to follow it but it is not carved in stone.

No caffiene at all (except small amounts in chocolate
) and no unpasturized cheeses.

I used to drink two large cups of strong yerba mate and that is gone now. Instead I drink Rooibos. It hasn't been too painful of a switch. I really want to get rid of any and all refined sugar from my diet, even things like honey and agave and also refined wheat, which is sad because I like my pasta. Maybe just once a month I'll have pasta, because I have to induldge a little! I'm just trying to eat nice lean meats, eggs and fish with lots of veggies and fruit. I also drink a superfood greens mixture in water twice a day.

Beer.
It's too bad because my husband JUST brewed a ton of really delicious beers. Bummer!
Otherwise I cleaned my diet up (quit caffiene, started new supplements) just last month in prep for pregnancy.

Pepsi. I am totally addicted to it but will give it up while i'm pregnant. I don't wat much deli meat, soft cheeses or fish so i'm ok on that take. I'll try to cut back on sugar in general too.

I've reduced my caffine intake to one cup of coffee a day (instead of my normal 6) cut out all fizzy drinks and junk food and am concentrating on eating loads of fruit and veg and lean meats. The one thing I'n struggling with a bit is calcuim - I hate drinking milk and don't really yogurts or cheese very much.

Darn I forgot about deli meat, I just had a turkey sandwich today
:.
OK so no COLD deli meat (it's safe when heated to steaming), no raw fish, no caffine in the first trimester, no alcohol in the first trimester and big prescription overhaul.
Once I'm past the first trimester then it's pretty much everything in moderation for me except for the possible lysteria or bacteria containing stuff. OH and the rule on soft cheese has been lifted as long as the cheese was made with pasturized milk (which is most of it... I don't eat raw cheese anyway). I've dropped from 6 or 7 meds a day to three and once my first trimester is done I can stop taking Metformin
. I have however added a couple extra supplements but all good safe stuff like omega 3 and papaya enzymes

Not much
:. I still drink a small cup or 2 of coffee, I tried to quit with DD and felt worse, when I told my Doc she didn't care and her comment was,"if it was a quad latte there would be concern, but a cup of coffee is no big deal." I don't really eat any unpasturized cheeses(although this summer the local dairy has og chevre and it is awesome). I always take my prenatal and fish oil. I actually have been eating much healthier this pregnancy than with my DD-I was so floored we ate frozen pizza about 3x's a week because I could. not. cook(and it was the only thing I liked). This time I only have waves of nausea that are bad, but go away very easily, with DD I felt a general "hung-over" feeling. This time I'm actually being a hungry girl so far, I'm either starving or not hungry. I still have a few cookies, I eat chips-honestly I always think that babies survived for eons before all the rules were inflicted on pregnant women, and I generally eat pretty healthfully, so I just don't worry that much. I'm a pretty relaxed pregnant woman though, I just believe in moderation.

Well some of you might not count this as part of your everyday food and of course I know it is not a food, but to me it is half of my breakfast every morning for who knows how long.
Cigarettes.
That and a cup of coffee is what gets me up in the morning. It is going to be torture, but it is a dirty habbit that has to be kicked and now is the time. I smoked through my last pregnancy and not many things make me feel guilty but that always did and I am determined that I will not just simply cut back but totally cut it out of my diet.
Other than that I don't really think there is anything I would want to cut out, or even cut back on.

lunch meat I guess? I had a really hard time doing this last time... I just don't know what to eat if I can't eat lunchmeat... besides leftovers but we don't have those everyday. I make my own chicken salad with cooked chicken breasts so thats probably okay... I just LOVE deli ham.. especially when I am pregnant. And protein helps with my ms so I eat alot of it.. plus I am nursing so I need a ton of protein too. I don't coffee or teas or soda with caffiene

No beer. At least for the first trimester, then I may sneak sips now and then from DP.
No real changes other than that. I eat very well, and have no intention of doing away with my one to two cups of green tea a day. Chocolate can stay, and on the rare occasions when we do have sushi, I will continue to do so. We have a couple sushi places where we trust the quality of the fish, and I've been eating there once a month(ish) for a while.

i really shouldn't have read this! i had lunchmeat today. i didn't realize it was on the no-no list.
:
for me, i'm going to cut out sushi, only eat a small amount of fish and try very very hard to eat more veggies. i will not give up my cup of tea in the morning, and besides, i never drink soda so it's not like i have alot of caffenine normally anyway. i will also try to choke down a glass of milk everyday.

I ate quite well last pregnancy, and for the last year or so I've been working on cutting out all artificial ingredients, but one thing I'm going to work on this time is chocolate.
I'm still going to allow myself my favorite thing in the world, strawberries dipped in chocolate, but only once a month, and only when I can find organic strawberries.
The rest of it I won't notice much, except for the raw and fake-crabmeat sushi. There are plenty of other kinds, though.

the only thing i consciously change during pregnancy is to try and kick the caffeinated coffee habit. i don't particularly want baby coming out with a coffee buzz

No raw fish. I'm actually adding a little meat to my diet though, as I'm usually a vegetarian (I still like meat though
). No soda. No candy. No caffeine. No alcohol until the second trimester (and then only a half a glass of wine rarely). And I'm trying to slowly cut back on refined sugar. That's the hardest one.
