Nothing exciting- Bernat Silky Sport that was on sale at Michael´s. Since it is for a charity thing and I wasn´t even sure I woud be successful. Also because I don´t exactly have a stash to pull from. Itś a really pretty deep cranberry color and it feels soft. The reason they are collecting shawls is the church is having an international convention for leaders. They are anticipating that people coming from hotter climates that don´t usually have AC will be chilly in the convention center. Therefore, they are collecting handmade shawls to hand out. I thought it was awesome that someone actually thought of this is far in advance (conference is this summer) so although I don attend that church anymore I would like to help. Itś a great excuse to practice before I try on more expensive yarn for myself too. Anyway, all that was to say it will most likely be worn around the shoulders not around the neck, and I wouldn´t want someone to ruin a wool item they just received.
I will never buy acrylic again though. It feels ewwwy when you are workig with it. The first skein I bought I didn´t realize what it was and it was to be the ids practice yarn. The second was a blend and I hate working with it as wel but it was the oly thing the LYS had in grey that could be washed. So I guess itś official; I'm a fiber snob.
