Did I ruin our Fuzzi Bunz?

DS was constipated for a few days and we had to use several suppositories. In my panic ( first child -- you know how it is!) all I did to protect the FB were line them with a cloth wipe.

The glycerin supp. didn't melt much, so I just dumped it and the poo into the toilet. Then I washed the wipes with the dipes. Maybe one or two diapers did get a supp. right on the diaper.

Now I can see a HUGE difference in absorbency. Major leaking. Will stripping be enough? (The way I strip is boiling inserts and hand washing FB shells with dish soap. We have a frontloader.)

Or are they ruined? TIA!

I don't think they are ruined. I would skip the boiling,I feel like that might do a number on the water proofing, and give them a good wash by hand with some dish soap.

I wouldn't boil the whole diaper. Maybe dip the portion that has been in contact with the sup. in the boiling water. I would use dawn and just wash them like crazy with it. I think they should be fine.

i would try a tbs of dawn first, maybe put some directly on any stains that you can see and scrub it in. if that doesnt work you can definitely boil them....pockets and all. i just did it to get rid of build up from the laundromat and i was leary boiling my pockets, but i did anyway...my fb, bg, hh and others and they all came out fine. and it definitely got them cleaner than just regular hot washing or dawn stripping. it was quite a bit more work, which is why i would try the dawn first though. i used a huge stock pot and boiled the pockets for about 10 mins and the inserts and my pfs for longer....i took the dipes out with pinchers and put them in a big bowl of ice water to cool and then hung to dry. it was a process but it worked.

I agree with everyone's suggestoins - the only thing I would do different would be after the dawn and prior to the boil, I would first try just several rinses on super hot. ( turn my hot water heater up). That might do the trick and then you could always boil later if it doesn't work.
