Diaper Rash - Help!

We use CPF during the day, mostly without a cover so we know when ds is wet but if we are going out of the house or it's really cold I put on a cover, bummis sww. At night we use one size pocket diapers, bg or wonderoos. When ds wakes up his rash looks like it's gone completely or almost all the way. But once I start with the CPF its comes back getting worse as the day goes on. It is on his upper thighs and above, not on, his penis about an inch and a half and out to where his legs meet his body. It is really red, but the skin is not broken. I try and lay him in the sun naked once a day. I have tried using plantain ointment, from the book Wise Women Herbal For the Childbering Year, (olive oil, plantain leaves, bees wax). Its seems to help a little but it's not going away. We have been dealing with this for a few weeks now and I don't want to go to sposies, we did when it started and it helped but it's way too expensive. I wash Country Save in hot, double rinse cold, dry hot. Oxygen bleach once a month.

What can I use that wont mess up the diapers, prefer natural solution?

dh thinks it's from the snappi pushing down on the diaper, but i dont know what else to use to keep it on, tried pins but it taks me forever to get them on and they are always too loose. ideas?

Maybe it rubs some? You could always try a microfleece liner and see if that helps. There might just be some not so soft spots from wear that rub him till he is red?

Have you stripped your diapers?

Also pure, organic, unrefined coconut oil has helped our DD a lot!

Some babies are delicate with the wetness against the skin - a fleece liner may help, as PP said.

Boiling might be a good option - kills any little germies that might be hiding in there.

I'm also of the opinion that cold rinses aren't that helpful. You might be better off doing one hot rinse, rather than 2 cold. I don't have a hot rinse option, so I just set it to hot wash and try to skip the rinse cycle.
