Belinda Tucker is an RN, midwife, mother, and golfer. She homeschooled her children and is very open-minded. I found her in 2004, and she's wonderful. She's very energetic, positive, and helpful. Her fees are reasonable, and her home is pleasant. I saw her for two prenatal visits in February and March of 2004. She weighed me, checked my urine, measured the fundal height, took my blood pressure, and listened to the baby's heartbeat for $35. She was kind to my four-year-old daughter and husband and was supportive of my decision to deliver at my home in Missouri. At that time, she could not legally cross the border. I highly recommend her.

She was the first midwife I contacted when I found out I was pregnant, but she wouldn't take me b/c I was a VBAC.

FWIW, in Arkansas, a licensed midwife is not legally allowed to attend a VBAC.

I know. I was just hoping she'd take me "under the table."

I highly recommend Belinda. I didn't start prenatal care with her until I was 24 weeks. She was very flexible about payments and had reasonable rates. She is very caring and informative. She didn't make it to my birth in time because she was 2 hours away, but she arrived about 15 minutes after I had my son.I also think she is able to offer her services in Missouri now.

It's been done before, but it is a potentially big risk for the mw. I am sorry you couldn't find one in your area.

She was my midwife in July of 2010 and I plan to use her again soon.  She was awesome through the pregnancy and aftercare.  Her skills during the birth were beyond amazing.  I highly recommend her!
