Without any further delay – Our sweet little boy is here!
Milo Joseph was born last Tuesday, February 3rd, 2009 at 10:02 am
8 lbs, 11 oz. 21 ½ in long
He’s healthy, perfect and has brought us so much joy already!! We’ve been home since Thursday, and watching my older boys fall in love with their brother has been more wonderful than I ever imagined.
Milo’s Birth Story
After careful deliberation, I chose to be induced at 39wks 1day. My dr and I were concerned about several issues, which all turned out to be true concerns. Please, no harsh comments. It was a tough decision and one I am still comfortable with.
So, I started on the lowest dose of pitocin at 6:00 am. Contractions picked up regularly right away, but were very mild. Just after 9:00, I had several much more internal (re: painful) ones and felt him drop even lower. Two contractions later my water broke and things picked up very, very fast, and got very intense. They shut off the pitocin. I was able to stay inwardly focused and on top of the pain, mostly because I could feel how much was progressing. After a few contractions, I got that overwhelming sense to push (that I didn’t feel with my first 2). Thankfully the dr was right there, I pushed with the next one and his head came out with the second contraction. The cord was around his neck tight, after the rapid drop, so I pushed his shoulders out between contractions. Ow! Thankfully, his heart rate only dropped for a short period of time and he was quickly pink and crying on my chest. It was so amazing!!!!
I’m so glad that he is finally here, safe and sound!
